To allowed deactivate an abandoned space, apply an art installation formerly create the context breathing once more. The site-specific art and atmosphere are the configuration for a perceiver to sense the happening in the space. The site-specific context here is the 'Liesenbrücken' as known as ‘Ghost Station’. The storytelling from the past of its space has been told as they were damaged from the war, and the cemetery is surrounded in all directions of the context. Here, the rose is the main object of the installation. Rose is the flower for the funeral as in universal meaning. Red roses mean love, courage, and deep respect for the passed away people, and the color white refers to the newborn. The wire standing looks flexible and unstable which symbolizes the nature of our life, imperfect and unpredictable. The flowers in the wind are fragile and easily destroyed, which also resembles life, easily ruined, but still beautiful.
Come up with the idea of the history of the context. I have researched the history and narrative of the site specification, and what’s happening in the past. There are 3 schematic designs with different storytelling of the site context and surrounding. And then I end up with the narrative of the ‘ghost station’ of the 'Liesenbrücke' abandoned bridge in Wedding. The site has been surrounded by all 4 sides cemetery in the past, and 2 remain until the present. The ghost station has been named because It was damaged by the war and totally being abandoned in 1962. By then, I come up with an idea to represent the symbolism of the funeral which could be related to the surrounding which is the cemetery. The red rose represents deep respect to the death, and the white represents the innocent, pure, and wish for a good newborn in the next life.
